Quite the "Battle of the Browsers" on this thread. I think we're finally coming to the conclusion that there is no one "best" browser. The "best" one is the one YOU like using for whatever reason. IMO they all have their pros and cons. MS is taking a different approach with Edge, just as with their OSs as of late. If the "Modern" WinRT approach is not for you, then I suggest to move on. Geez. Enough is enough.
You are correct, I posted back a few that it is a users choice of what Browser to use or for that matter what OS to use. Enough is Enough.

Edge is getting really close to Firefox with its HTML5 test score. Nice to see that.
Now if they could just make it stable and responsive like Chrome and Firefox it might be useable !

Maybe, but Edge supports Netflix at 1080P, Chrome at 720P, and Firefox not at all. Don't know about Amazon, Hulu, etc.
Netflix system requirements for HTML5 Player and Silverlight
I hate Edge for browsing, but I like it for streaming video.
FWIW to anybody not up to speed , No need for Silvrrlight anymore Netlix plays directly in the browsers now with HTML5.. best thing to do is unimnstall Silveright altogether and or or set up HTML5 on your Netflix acct settings for the PC 's .

AFAIK Chrome supports 1080p on everything but Netflix . I can get 1080p PBS, the 1080i/p TV network /cable web sites and a lot of other things including You Tube 1080p/2160p on Chrome .

I usually use the Roku or PS3 extenders for Netflix 1080p , Amazon HD and VUDU HDX

FWIW on Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 IE 11 supports Netflix 1080P so does Edge like you say
also the Windows store Neflix UI app plays Netflix 1080p .

AFAIK Netflix 4 K is only happening on the new Roku 4K extender and embedded Netlix 4K TV apps .

Can you give me some sites where Edge is unstable, I've been hearing this a bit but I've never had any problems with Edge. I've been looking for sites to make it unstable I just can't find any.

My problem with Edge is not instability but inablility to download documents greater than 750 pages. I have the same issue with IE11. I use a proprietary site that presents large documents in Olive eReader. Only Chrome and Firefox can handle these docs, all of which exceed 2000 pages. So until IE and Edge are fixed I have to use one of the third-party browsers.

Just skimming the ad and judging by the picture being drawn, it seems to say, "Microsoft Edge, now with Cthulhu."

Ok I had to look that one up:
Cthulhu is a cosmic entity created by writer H. P. Lovecraft and first introduced in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu", published in the pulp magazine Weird Tales ...

The links are obsolete there so don't even bother clicking on those since this was only a fast copy and paste to show what came in. But you can see how they are going the length to include the social networks, YouTube, Cortana of course being part of the process as well as highlighting a a few other things. as they promote Edge further.

The clencher is the part about bringing in your Favorites(IE only naturally) and when having a large number trying to rearrange the mess is mission impossible since you can only drag around the Favorites or Bookmarks you imported when the number exceeds the screen. I had stretched them across the dual display set up here but couldn't drag any from the off screen dropdown extension to the left side Favorites bar you see on the browser window itself.

Now when first getting IE 11 going on 10 on the other hand and seeing the bookmarks from Waterfox imported in the same manner you would import from Firefox those were are disorganized as well but could easily be rearranged to hide the bulk while placing the most often used up in order from the start of the bar at the left side working over. You can't drag the icon for the web address directly onto the bar either as you can in most other browsers showing it still very much lacks in the familiar flexibility.
