    First: Win 8.1 WMC to Win 10
    Second: Clean install

    I had to retry 3 times to finally get it to update without getting an error. Third time it worked like a charm.

    @Gary,, I'm not worried but I'm saying that the KB mentioned in the OP does not install with the latest insider build, 10565. I does with build 10240.

    Maybe it really depends on which third party AV is used although not sure why Windows Defender updates would be needed when Windows Defender is disabled while the third party AV is active anyways.
