Its one thing to recommend going to the marketplace for a person who is knowledgeable about the hazards of the marketplace when it comes to Windows. Its another to recommend to a novice family member or friend or to someone I don't know much about to do so. If I have any doubts about a person's skill in avoiding the pitfalls of non-Microsoft sources of Microsoft software I recommend buying 10 from an authorized Microsoft dealer or Microsoft directly. In those cases I NEVER even mention buying outside the channel (buying 7 or 8 from third party sources) instead of buying in-channel.
If it were me telling someone to buy Windows, I would tell them to go to Best Buy, Office Depot, Fry's, Costco, Newegg, Amazon.com, and the gazillion other legitimate sources. If I'm going to tell them to buy from an authorized Microsoft dealer, I'm going to name a few . . .

I have always shopped around and found the best deal I could; I've never actually bought Windows or Office from Microsoft itself. Even when I subscribed to Office 365, I got a one year subscription from Amazon for $65.00 rather than from Microsoft for $99.00.

I had to go back to 10547 on my laptop because MS Edge was being attacked. The only way to get to shut down was to use the task manager. Windows Defender could not find a problem and neither could the latest Malwarebytes. The only solution was to use system recovery.

I also had to go back to 10240 on my main system also because of the MS Edge. For some reason it had created new folders for all the items in my favorites. I know that is probably not enough of a reason to get rid of it but I had only just gone from 10240 to test if a device would work properly and it did not. :-( so why keep 10565 around.

I did my own test and had good fortune to get activated on a brand new clean install of win 7 ultimate then to a win 10 clean install with iso made from 10565. I got the entitlement activation and then downloaded belarc advisor to see what it said and it gave me a total different key as the one I installed. So I am confused and have more testing and reading to do. But first one more baseball game on tonight. Wow

Keep in mind that all of these activations are on build 10565. We won't know the rest of the story until Threshold 2 goes to the general public and we have a new .iso on the Media Creation Tool site.
Once I had the activated 10565 as in my post above this one of yours, I used GatherOsState.exe to create a GenuineTicket.xml file, which I pasted into the %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\ClipSVC\GenuineTicket folder of the CORE build 10240 installation that had never activated on this PC, and on starting up, it activated.

So now I have two Activated RETAIL CORE non-insider installations on a Fujitsu Siemens desktop courtesy of an OEM Windows 7 Starter product key from a COA sticker on the back of a dead Packard Bell netbook.

The loopholes will be plugged anyway, it is surely better to expose weaknesses than encourage illicit usage by keeping stuff under wraps?

Later, I'll do that, I'd like someone to confirm my findings first - more likely here than on MS feedback board.

I no longer have any virgin computers. And yeah, more likely here than on feedback.
