When Windows is installed there's no need to go to Audit Mode and in any case you cannot upgrade when in Audit Mode.

Then to tackle the "Sysprep - Upgrade paradox": an upgraded Windows cannot be sysprepped, a sysprepped Windows cannot be upgraded, I needed to edit one value in registry to allow upgrading a sysprepped Windows. Download and install Build 9860 upgrade, again registry editing this time to allow an upgraded Windows to be sysprepped, and finally Sysprep to move the Users back to E: where I want to keep it.
Thanks for that! I understand a little more than I did before.

Where is the update downloaded to? Would be nice to be able to capture that to save future download time.

    Edit: Found something here: C:\$Windows.~BT
Looks like a full install tree.

Edit#2: Tried starting setup.exe from above directory. All it did was delete everything excet some files in the Sources directory so I guess that isn't it.

Is it just me, or does the new setup remind anyone of the startup for Sim City/Sims.. I keep expecting it to say "Reticulating Splines"

There's no install.wim, at least I cannot find it. Interesting folder, though, have to do some more digging.

Mine took about 45 minutes but I'd expect it's all down to connection speed and demand now.
