Windows 10 Build 9860 Now Available
-
I fixed my activation error. When I booted up this morning I noticed my Lock screen wasn't what I had set it to, so I went in to change it, and was told I couldn't until windows was activated.
I took a chance and changed my product code to what was listed on MSDN for Enterprise 64 bit. Activated a couple of seconds later and all appears fine. I have no idea why the product code was changed during the upgrade?
As I replied in your earlier post. I have never been asked for a code. My installation is automatically activated. You apparently went via a different route? The MSDN download does not require a code.
Hi there
I got a Windows is not activated message where the watermark is on the bottom right hand of the screen. Just type SLUI 3 in administrator mode - note space between slui and 3 and insert the standard key (Enterprise if using Enterprise or the standard build for the standard one - then it's fine).
The download when doing "update" from PC settings ==>check for new builds doesn't give any progress while it's downloading -- a bit annoying that as it would be nice to see that sort of information.
Cheers
jimbo
I just clicked on "change key" and clipped and pasted the key in. A lot easier.

I just got another update, KB3010668
Does anyone know what this KB fixes, changes, etc. ?
The support page for this KB is not found...

I am unable to download Build 9860. I go to PC Settings > Update and Recovery > Preview builds and click the Download now
button and it just sits there. Tried it on 3 different VMs. Perhaps I am not patient enough?
-
Yup. It doesn't show any progress bar. Just be patient.
-
How patient? Is it a large download?
Edit: Never mind, it is installing now!

The ESD file is the biggest part of the download, it is 2.7 GB for x64 and 2.2 GB for x86. In ideal conditions where you could use 100% of your line speed all the time, it would take about 36 minutes to download the x64 ESD file on a 10 MBps connection, a bit under half an hour for the x86.

Aha!
Thanks again
Edwin. :)
Funny thing, I noticed when 9841 came out. If you run Belarc Advisor (Speccy won't install), they list it as Win 9 Pro!
