A closer look at Microsoft's new Surface Book laptop Surface

I want to, lol. :) Cant even find spec sheet yet and they are up for preorder. No info on exact cpu chip, nvidia chip, or ram type and speed and they want preorders. Did the MS chat thing on MS store site and they knew nothing about specs yet have them for preoder. Not going to spend this kind of money without these particulars. Just going to have to wait.

I have seen that, but it only has general info, not specifics. I want to know which versions of the surface book for example have which particular i7 skylake. I am guessing this will all be known shortly...

Would be nice if one of the choices is to have the unlocked i7 skylake chip :)

They're not selling overclocked systems here; and it's still a notebook so heat is still an issue. It's not like you can water cool the thing :)

As for which is which, all you have to do is visit MS's Store - Microsoft Surface Book - scroll down to Tech Specs.

Anyway it says 6th gen processors so... here's a list of Intel's 6th gen mobile processors

Didn't plan on water cooling it :) But I did read that Intel says that 4.0 is achievable on air, be fun to try and see. And the tech specs don't specify which chip in particular yet to my knowledge.
I am in no hurry. No issue with waiting for more info to drop to make my decision.

With a laptop I am more interested in battery life than overclocking

I have been at the amazon reinvent conference this week and have seen thousands of MacBook Pros. People are willing to spend if its a good product. I spent that much on my rMBP.
