However, I suspect much of this is due to the fact that they removed so many of Windows 7 features from the 10 OS. While smaller, it offers less in functionality, that is the trade I suppose.
    Agreed.

Also, W7 has had GBs of updates and most likely large numbers of program updates.
These items seem to bloat up winsxs.

If you do a clean reinstall of W7 and install the latest versions of your software, the overall install size is smaller.

Anyone has any data on how many of the 100M are businesses?

What I am trying to gauge is this: how ready is Windows 10 for business use?

    I'm pretty sure it's around 8 million.

If the 100 million number is true, then it is pretty impressive in my opinion.

NOT -- in my opinion. After all, it's FREE!! And, MS pushed it to folks machines, in some cases, without their knowing about it.

What percentage of current iPhone owners do you think would upgrade to the newest version if Apple suddenly announced that the upgrade was FREE! 95%? 99%?

Does not impress me either, especially considering the huge drop-off for the second month of W-10 availability and if that trend continues it might just indicate that MS is having trouble giving it away.
