Guys, I was not asking if 10547 ISO works with Rufus. I was asking if you, too get an error when running Rufus in Windows 10 build 10547, regardless of what version of the ISO you are using?
Guys, I was not asking if 10547 ISO works with Rufus. I was asking if you, too get an error when running Rufus in Windows 10 build 10547, regardless of what version of the ISO you are using?
But it works when at 10240 with both versions of Rufus 2.30 & 2.40. Don't remember what was updated on 10547?
Ok, here's my findings.
Used Rufus 1.8, 2.2 and 2.4. On all of them it gave me same error of "Disk in use" in 10547, 10532 and 10240 ISOs. USB 32GB had 10240 on it. Than I used EASUS partition master to kill partition, made new one in NTFS and Rufus worked. Of course, I didn't install windows from it but it boots up just fine.
Moral of the story, use freshly partitioned and formatted USB and it should work.
A major difference with build 10547 is that a lot of system files have been compressed to save disk space.
Only reason I know this is because I use Raxco Perfect Disk to defrag but a boot time defrag started giving a BSOD in build 10547.
I contacted Raxco and sent them a log file from the PD directory. They then sent me a file to run which uncompressed the system files. After running it boot time defrag worked again.
Maybe the Rufus issue could be connected in some way, unlikely I know but stranger things have happened
