Once again, Restore is turned off. Why the blazes do they think this is a good idea for every new build??

Hmmm, I've been having trouble closing Excel 2016, but just though they were older files. Now, I'm wondering about that.

Going to check some more files to see if it happens again.

    Thanks, Jean!

Edit: Only the one file, which just had to be huge, doesn't want to save. I'll try making a copy of it and see if that works.
Hmmm on mine Edge wouldn't close down, generally seems a little bit glitchy, oh well, life in the fast land, also feels a bit faster than before.

Of course I can turn it back on but that is not the point. It shouldn't be turned off if I have it on. There are so many settings that aren't changed so they should leave this alone as well.

I regard this as a an integrity issue and am not amused that I have to remember to reset it.

I assume MS is considering that system restore is NOT a solution for our builds as they need feed backs. That's probably why!

    Clean install, some observations.

1: I made and iso from the install.esd file and burned a DVD.

2: I booted from the DVD and got an option to upgrade or clean install. I chose clean install.

3: I went into the repair window and used the Command prompt to use DISKPART to clean my SSD which had Windows on it.

4: Installing from the DVD gave me an option to custom partition. I had booted from UEFI and this gave four partitions.

5: Install continued with no problems.

6: I had to install the Intel Chipset driver manually.

    I'll report more observations later.
