That's very silly... Informations are the most important thing in business. Less info = more problems!

Totally agree with altae above . I have given 10 and edge all my computer time since day 1 but enough is enough , cannot put up with constant freezing and crashing and not responding .Obviously this os could not be problem free by its very nature and will take some time to fix all the problems but the big brother attitude can only result in lost users who will go to linux or back to their old version . I have reinstalled 8.1 and at last I can use my system without all the crashes and delays . We'll see what happens in the next few weeks but if MS wish to force things on us they will alienate their users . Presumably they think that as they have 'given' 10 for free then they have the right to do what the hell they like !

Providing info about updates is costly.
    Get Real!

This is the electronic/digital age. The update detail information exits internally within Microsoft. There is spell check and grammar software available. It doesn't take a room full of employees to do this. With a few keystrokes the information can be delivered to millions. Microsoft wants to modify your OS without the user knowing it. I do not trust MS any more than I would trust any mega-global corporation and that's not much!

On the other hand, if the updates are being assembled and delivered in a haphazard fashion then MS may not want to divulge mush info because the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

The problem with Microsoft is they no longer have any respect for their customers. Microsoft is now under the impression that it is THEIR computer to do as they see fit. They don't have to explain anything to anyone.
Microsoft has become so arrogant that this former fan has decided enough is enough. Back porting the spyware back to 8.1 8 and 7 seriously means you are only safe from their data hovering on VISTA or Linux.
For me the long term is a transition to Linux and using a Windows 7 virtual machine after 7 end of life. I am not prepared to use Windows (what is broken this boot?) 10 Pro Spyware edition. I thought Balmer was an azzhole but Satya Nadella with his everything mobile in the cloud is worse. Everyone should leave feedback for Microsoft to stop the tracking and data hoovering and be transparent with exactly what is going on with these patches. I am only letting 10 lose in a virtual machine for now. Windows 10 is an even bigger disappointment than 8 and that really took some doing. Only Microsoft could do that.

I honestly start to like Windws 8.1 more and more. Ok, 8.1 was annoying because of the tiles nonesense. But that could all be dealt with. On the other hand, the basis was solid. 8.1 was rock stable reliable and it could be customized in almost any way. What's more it was no spyware like 10. I really looked forward the the release of Windows 10. But more and more it looks like a big disappointment.

Not spilling details on every update is a good way for Microsoft to hide correction of embarrassing mistakes that never should have been made in the first place and/or they previously claimed didn't exist.

Wow, I couldn't agree more with you two! I know there are a lot of people who seem to take personal offense at the notion that some of us don't agree that 10 is the long-awaited Savior of the Microsoft faithful. I really hoped to like 10, especially given my distaste for 8. I never would've imagined anything could make me actually like 8. But somehow, Microsoft managed to pull it off. It's a miracle!

If you're not concerned about the amount of control Microsoft is taking away from its users, fine, that's your prerogative. But why do people feel it's their personal mission to convince those of us that are concerned that we are whiny or ignorant or paranoid?

Squeaky wheels and grease and all that...

Yeah that sounds more like the Windows 7 and 8 updates that were used to promote Windows 10 and new telemetry technologies.

My experience in Eight forums, only a few actually looked(or cared to look) on patch Tuesday. And I only looked after I installed, because of curiosity, not cherry picking.
as far as i'm concerned mickysour should of NEVER changed how we do updates. the main reason is they still can't get 3rd party drivers right, but keep pushing them. it is my comp and i WILL choose what is and isn't installed.
