I stopped using it with Windows 7.

I haven't seen any 32 bit only hardware for quite a long time.

The desktop that I resurrected (a couple of weeks ago) is a triple boot setup:
    • W7 & LM17.2 (both 64 bit)
    • XP (32 bit)

I've got WMC working fine in one of my Win 10 Pro's.

I just upgraded a 32bit 7 Home Premium laptop to 10 Home x64. No big deal since the laptop has 3gb and was due for a clean install to "get rid of" all that factory stuff?!

For some reason I'm still trying to find out why this version of WMC simply will not go on despite alternating things a little. At first the restart in between the TestRights.cmd and the Installer.cmd to be followed by using the Uninstall.cmd before the TestRights.cmd followed by a restart before and even after the Installer.cmd has tried on different occasions.

Next to shut down the av and firewall to see if that is the problem or can be simply ruled out. I have to restart again anyways from just another drive set up here.

There are few with older CPU's that are not supported in 64 bit version but are fine running the 32 bit. Not many but I've seen a couple of posts where 32 bit installed where 64 bit wouldn't. Other than that, really old hardware that they can't do without, with no 64 bit driver?

I'm running it on RTM with no problem except program guide won't download and many others here have posted it on newer versions of windows so it's not just for 10134.
    flush the DNS cache
    open cmd propt as admin
    type
    ipconfig /flushdns
I had to do that on mine and then it gets the data ok.
MS just changed from zaptoit to rovi, and WMC has to be directed to right place to get data.

I uninstalled this version of WMC. Don't want to risk any future problems with Windows 10, since this version of WMC is kind of a kludge.

Can't blame you there any! I still haven't had a chance to disable the av and it's own firewall for another go at it. Been trying to get another project to work out. MediaPlayer Classic seems to be doing ok however on 10 as well as the AIMP audio player so far.

What I am looking for now won't be for either of the two desktops but the laptop now that the 7 installed has been replaced by 10! I've been packing dvds when going to see someone and need a working player since 7's WMP is now past tense!

Just to play a video file, there is VLC which also plays WMC recorded TV files and plays DVDs.

I'm aware of VLC as well as MediaPlayer Classic which I won't use either for audio however as I would WMP. VLC is multi-OS as well. :)

That's a freebie found at the Windows Store there as well as on the web. But it can rather limited as well. Back when 7 was new and perhaps before 7 with Vista I looked at it but not what I was looking for.

As for this flavor of WMCenter being seen the interest is simply finding what is keeping it from going on. Now that the other project has worked out ok I have a few to try disabling a few things to see if that will solve it or not.
