Today was my last attempt to install update KB5037768. I removed all peripherals, used a wired keyboard and mouse, and connected directly to my router. Again, after successfully downloading this update, upon reboot, installation reached 92% before receiving the message that the installation could not be completed and changes to my computer were being undone. After that, I ran the Windows Update Trouble Shooter, downloaded KB5037768 again, and upon installation, received the same error. I wonder since this computer does not have any blue-tooth firmware if that is a reason for these results. I know that may be a stretch in reasoning, but I can't come up with any explanation when all other updates download and install correctly.

When I have the problem you describe I usually have to do an in place upgrade as per this Thread Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

TTTT, try downloading the cumulative update from microsoft update catalog and install it that way. the link to the download at microsoft update catalogue is on the advisory for the update:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...2-8b277606c6e3

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...px?q=KB5037768

i try to always download updates from microsoft update catalog and install them that way rather than using "windows update."

Thank you Redwolfe 98. I have already tried the catalogue and no install. And Curlysir, no need for an upgrade. All other updates reliably install. Meebers, good know you have no bluetooth firmware. My guess that it was firmware was just that, only a guess. Thank you, all.

What the in-place upgrade does is fix whatever is causing the problem with the update, you retain all your existing files and programs. That is the only way I have found to fix the problem with an update not installing properly. I just had to do it with one of my 3 desktops on this update.

Thank you, curlysir. I will look into a in-place upgrade. Thank you for letting me know that step was necessary for one of your desktops in order to install KB503778. Since Tuesday, I have seen comments on other platforms stating similar difficulty getting this particular update to install.
