I have no intention of paying MS any money. I only have one old laptop supposedly non-compliant for Windows 11. I'll keep it running on Windows 10 until W10 EOL then use one of several hacks to upgrade it to Windows 11. Failing that 'll continue to use for routine work but won't do any sensitive computer like like online banking.
As insurance against any MS introduction of deviate blocks, I'd be getting a blank SSD now and doing a Win11 install (to see if it works) and sticking it back in the cupboard for the future, hoping that MS simply blocks non-compliant upgrades and not go so far as to even disable those already done.

I have 2 desktops in Windows 11 Insider, one Beta and one Release Preview. When – and if – I start to like 11, I'll move my 2 main PCs and laptop to it. But not one second before. Such blabbering as this from Microsoft notwithstanding.

I swear, I am done with Windows, when 10 reaches end of life I am done with it. I have already installed Solus on an old laptop and it runs slick as snot on ancient hardware. I thought terminal language would be hard to learn but it really isn't and what you don't know or understand there is tons of help available in the Linux community.

I will not use Windows 11 and I will CERTAINLY not use Windows as a subscription, Is MS F#@king kidding me? Windows as a subscription just SCREAMS security and PRIVACY issues

A lot of us think that it is just rumor , and it may be, but we all know MS has been trying to push Windows as a subscription for years now, pretty much right after Window 8 was released but there has been too much kick back , once they think they have the majority on their side they will do it.
I have never needed or sought the use of Windows technical help, therefore the need for me to use Windows as a subscription is nil.

Linux however, unlike Windows pays attention to older hardware and pretty much ensures their systems can run on older hardware , unlike MS who is forcing users to either trash their older systems for newer ones or upgrade the hardware in them in order to run their OS which is BS. If their OS was as secure as Linux systems instead of being riddled with holes there would be no need for newer hardware unless initiated by the end user.
