    Ken,

I was still looking things up & adding them as you posted.

Going by their instructions, mine is way out of date [I have not run KB5034441].
    WinRE Version : 10.0.19041 ServicePack Build : 1
    {Created : 07/12/2019 - 13:16:07 Modified : 08/12/2020 - 15:05:39}
    yet
    Windows 10 Home x64 Version 22H2 Build 19045.3930
I looked up those dates in my logs.
    On 8/12/20 [8th December 2020] I ran a Version update from 1909 to 20H2 using the ISO i.e. an In-place update.
I started at 14:14 & I recorded completion at 15:18 so it all fits.
But I've nothing for that Created date.
Sometime after that, in 2021, I moved my WinRE into my OS drive & deleted my Recovery partition.
And I updated to 21H2 then 22H2 using their EPs rather than by In-place upgrades.

This is a Windows 10 machine I fixed yesterday, using it's own existing winre, didn't need to get a fresh one as it had a fully working recovery partition already. Yes, it's Service Build 3920.

I kept getting the error with my old AIO that had a 500mb recovery partition so I used the terminal and command lines to shrink my primary partition and increase the recovery partition to 1gb. All works fine now and updates installed correctly. I find it hard to believe that MS thinks the average user would be able to do this.

though I find it better just to use apps like windows update minitool [WUMT], wumgr or even wushowhide.diagcab to block and/or hide the KB5034441 update indefinitely until Microsoft themselves adjust or change the windows update detection metadata on their end to not offer the KB5034441 update to certain Win10 systems that already have the other recent cumulative updates installed.

another failed download, again, another day lost getting system back to normal, again.

    wash rinse repeat.

not doing recovery partition and the wushowhide cab doesnt hide updates until installed which it wont.

step by step copy & paste
watch the system response after each step

    reagentc /disable
    diskpart
    sel disk 0
    sel part 5
    delete partition override
    create partition primary
    format quick fs=ntfs label="Recovery"
    set id="de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac"
    gpt attributes =0x8000000000000001
    exit

    reagentc /enable
    You are ready
    reagentc /info

    Run your Windows Update again
    run
    reagentc /boottore
and start a normal reboot to check the new Recovery Environment
Just curious - sometimes I do not see the format quick fs=ntfs label="xxxx" command used.

Is this used mainly to give the partition a label, or does the partition really have to be formatted?

    Thanks

    You are still fighting?
If you like you can label it as "Mike Tyson" and it has to be formatted.
