If it is still 0, then it's probably because of the MFT location. I had that last year.
    To solve that you need
    1. Backup&Recovery Tool (Macrium, ....) that allows you to backup just the C-Partition.
    2. You need the Macrium Recovery Stick.
    3. You need the Know-How to do that!

    Yes the value remains 0

Well, I do not feel confortable going forward with the instructions right now... Even if I have tools which are : AOMEI Backupper Professional and Acronis True Image

Should I create a Recovery partition again ? Or is my system ok without it ? Will other updates from Windows still be installed in the future ?

Is there a chance a patch from MSFT will help me in the coming weeks/months ?

    Thanks @Pentagon

I don't believe that all that can be done in this forum

    I fully understand that...

You can't create a Recovery Partition. 2 Days ago it was there!
First you run a Backup. MS will not provide a new patch!
If you have Backups you don't need it really. But it's nice to have for short troubleshootings
    Have a nice day.

Yesterday I was ebable to create a new one after deleting it using that tuto :

    FIX IT...Windows 10 KB5034441 Security Update Fails With 0x80070643 Errors - YouTube

But I deleted it again as I got the error message

get an error message during shrinking the Primary part.

    Run shrink desired=250 minimum=250

    output was

    Virtual Disk Service Error:
The specified reduction size is too large and the volume will be smaller
    than the minimum volume size.

EDIT : You to @Pentagone, thank you again and enjoy your week

    @Database

I don't know if AOMEI allows you to recover to a smaller Partition. But you defenitely need a USB-Recovery-Stick. In that case you run a backup of your C-Partition first.
After that you run a Clean Installation with the last MCT and update your WinRE.wim.
When that is ready you run the Rrecovery of Partition C from the backup.
    That is easy as well.

Last Tuesday installation of this KB failed. Today WU offered me this update again and it installed successfully! Nothing has been changed on my system since the last week.
The update process took some time, winre.wim in the recovery partition was updated.

Maybe (?) MS has actually realised what a gigantic ball it dropped.
It would be interesting to hear from others who've experienced the same - failure to install last week and success this week.

@rpo are you sure there have been NO updates in between?
Have you checked both Windows Settings > Update & Security > Update History AND Control Panel > Programs and Features?
Makes a mockery of all the helpful advice given on this thread if it's true

If anyone ever wants to check what updates have been applied then Event viewer can be a useful tool.
I use three Event viewer, Custom views for this. I cannot call one of them the 'best' as it depends on what I'm looking for on any given occasion.

Here are my three Event viewer, Custom view definitions in a single zip file.
    EventViewer.zip
    Their names are
    WU
WU - System log incl Apps
    WU - Setup log

    To import each one:
    1 Unzip the file
then, for each xml file (each Custom view),
2 Open Event viewer, click on Import Custom view [on the right-hand side],
3 Browse to and select the xml, Open,
4 Change the name if you want to then OK,
5 You can see the records, on the left-hand side, within the group Custom views.

You can then select each Custom view in Event viewer's left-hand pane whenever you want.

    All the best,
    Denis

The only updates in between are the automatic windows defender updates. When i opened the PC today, a notification told that updates were available; windows update opened, searched for updates, downloaded and intalled KB5034441 (and a defender update). My intention was to enlarge the 980 MB recovery partition following the thread recommandations, but this was useless since the update installed successfully. The tasks manager showed an important CPU consumption (dism, recovery partiton configuration..).
