The latest windows 10 update KB5034122 downloads but fails to install either using Windows updates or manually installing from the Microsoft Update Catalog. What might cause this to happen? I have tried manually downloading from the Microsoft Catalog successfully, but the installation fails. I have disabled my virus protection temporarily also failed. I have restarted Background Intelligent Transfer Service and still failed. What am I missing?
I don't see a recovery partition. With good backups, you don't really need one.
Here's my whole Disk Management screen shot blurb...
A screen shot of Disk Management showing everything...
Proper Disk Management screen shot. Needs to be stretched horizontally and vertically, so we can see and read, everything...
And last but not least... we need this as well...
Quickie screenshot directions.
1. Use the PrtSc key to take a screenshot.
2. Open an image editor like "Paint", and clickPaste > Paste
, orEdit > Paste
.
3. Click onSelect > Rectangular Select
and drag a box around what you want to show.
4. Click onCrop
.
5. Click onFile > Save as > PNG picture
and save it to somewhere like your desktop.
6. Now, in your Ten Forums post, click the mouse where you want the pic, and then click on the Insert Image icon.
7. Then click on.. From Computer > Browse (to where you saved the screenshot) > Upload File(s).
8. You will then see something like this. That's your "posted" image.
How do you boot to Safe Mode without a Recovery Partition?
A bit tricky..as you don't have Advanced Startup options if you simply delete the Recovery partition.
Boot into Safe Mode on Windows 10
Option 1 is not available.
6 Ways To Boot Windows 10 Into Safe Mode
Options 1,2,3 are not available.
You will not have the other Advanced Startup options, and if you wish to use a command prompt, System Restore etc at boot, you will need to boot from a Win 10 install disk.
