    It can't do that unless there is unallocated space on the Windows disk.
    Believe me, you don't want Windows updates being able to change partition sizes.
    What is point of this update on home versions where is no BitLocker?

    There is a Security flaw in the way the Recovery partition is set up.
    This update fixes that security flaw.

    One of the flaws, is that a hacker can break Bitlocker. There are other flaws as well.

    I'm more than happy to help you fix this without using "commands".
    But I really don't want to sit here and defend Microsoft. I don't work for Microsoft.

    remember 6 years ago when Spectre became a thing and Windows updates were moved to everybody instead of just Intel people? they might be using the same approach here to just patch everybody instead of just people with Bitlocker? (only they forgot something before moving things out today)

    I recreated my WindowsRE to 1.84 GB using this link's instruction from Igor Strogers post.

    URL=https://support.microsoft.com/es-es/topic/kb5034441-windows-recovery-environment-update-for-windows-10-version-21h2-and-22h2-january-9-2024-62c04204-aaa5-4fee-a02a-2fdea17075a8

    [It looked great except it doesn't get recognized as WindowsRE. I followed the GPT directions and everything succeeded except the reagentc /info still shows no WindowsRE and of course enable doesn't work. Any clues to correct this?

    At least it's not the end of the world

    We need to see the Disk that has Windows installed on it.

    If you actually don't have a valid Recovery partition, then you don't need to worry about this update.

    This is what the reagentc /info command will show if you don't have a Recovery partition...
