gonna have to wait and see if some of the problems in KB5028166 are fixed with KB5028244 (currently in RP channel but should be released by next Tue. 7/25), which I'm currently beta testing on a few of my Win10 pcs

I don't want to sound paranoid but I hope this isn't some hidden MS strategy to push Win11 onto us. Today I have noticed games perform a lot worse, with high spikes in fps.

You are paranoid as the Windows Latest's news article specifically stated that it affects Windows 11 as well.

i think that the problems that people are having are due to microsoft's blocking of vulnerabile drivers, which they have been addressing, recently. i think the solution is going to be updating drivers. i am thinking that the problem is not on microsoft's end.
