    Tweet from Elon Musk:

To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits:

    • Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day
    • Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day
    • New unverified accounts to 300/day

I relied on my local council's traffic reports on Twitter. I don't want an account, I just want to be kept informed. All I can see now is this:

...and although I can understand the rationale, I'm still surprised that he decided to impose it.
On the other hand I can now spend some of my free time a bit more more wisely

Yeah, fair point - same here for EuroTunnel (@LeShuttle), especially people's replies and comments... Oh well...

Apart from the obvious inconvenience when one uses 3rd Party intermediary / gate to read twits, I am betting the other working avenues will shut shortly down as well...

Time will tell who wins - but then again, a salutary warning: don't bet against Elon Musk...

Some say he doesn't want twitter and aims to run it into the ground.

I have an account so no big deal to me. I do get why it will piss some off though.
My wife has a Facebook account, I don't. I get no where on Facebook, even just trying to look at her page on my PC.
All I get is sign in to continue.

I suspect more would say that he has already succeeded.
