    We are adding support for plugins to ChatGPT — extensions which integrate it with third-party services or allow it to access up-to-date information. We’re starting small to study real-world use, impact, and safety and alignment challenges.

    I wanted to use ChatGPT, but upon signing up they wanted a phone number. NOPE! Total BS. No real reason why you need a phone number so you can link my usage. I was already using some incognito stuff to avoid being linked to what I wanted that AI to compute. When they asked for my phone number I was about to throw my fist threw the f-ing screen. I guess now I have to get a dumb phone just for this sign-up crap. Ting seems interesting.

    Seems like you can't do jack without having to hand over a phone number. And you can't use a VoIP provider because websites are using an API to know who owns that phone number - the phone provider. Google is one that will tell you to take a hike if you use a VoIP number. They love getting on their knees and sucking telemetry out of you...

    I use several phone numbers on such sites none of which are correct!
