    KB5025801: Out of Box Experience update for Windows 10, version 20H2, 21H2, and 22H2: March 21, 2023

    Summary

    This update adds a Shim to prevent the CoCreateInstance function from creating unsupported objects. This update applies only to the Windows 10 OOBE process and is available only when OOBE updates are installed.

    Reminder

    • Windows 10, version 2004 reached end of servicing on December 14, 2021 for all editions. For more information, see here. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends that you update to the latest version of Windows 10.
    • Windows 10, version 20H2 reached end of servicing on May 10, 2022 for devices running the Home, Pro, Pro Education, or Pro for Workstations editions. For more information, see here. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends that you update to the latest version of Windows 10.
    • Windows Server, version 20H2 Standard Core and Datacenter Core reached end of servicing on August 9, 2022. Note that Windows 10, version 20H2 for Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise will reach end of servicing on May 9, 2023. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends that you update to the latest version of Windows Server.
    • Windows 10, version 21H1 reached end of servicing on December 13, 2022. This applies to all editions of Windows 10, version 21H1. For more information, see here. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends that you update to the latest version of Windows 10.

    How to get this update

    Windows OOBE
    This update is installed during the Windows OOBE process if an Internet connection is available.

    Prerequisites
    There are no prerequisites for installing this update.

    Restart information
    Your device requires a restart after applying this update.

    Update replacement information
    This update does not replace a previously released update.

    There is no result in the Microsoft's Update Catalog as you can see

    Hello Jay,

    This update is only installed during the Windows OOBE process if an Internet connection is available. It's not available for manual installation.
