I would have switched to Linux long ago, if they had written it in English.

NOT TRUE! I dabbled with Linux before and it's NOT ALL command-line! You can also download a LOT what you need in the store which is included.

I've dabbled in Linux as well. Not a fan.

Why do you say that when @Ghot is obviously referring to Windows 11?

Although I and Ghot often have (friendly) differences of opinion, I 100% agree with him on this one.

Windows 10 is now in a technical evolutionary cul-de-sac and is slowly dying. Of course, if your pc is not Windows 11 compatible, it makes sense to remain on W10 whilst W10 is still supported.

Once support ends, I will probably move my older incompatible (backup) laptop to W11 assuming MS do not entirely block the running of W11 on old pcs. Updates will be a bit tricker, requiring isos and doing in place upgrades, but better than running an insecure W10 thereafter.

I experienced 25 - 30% cpu for about 20 minutes directly after boot; culprits were wuauserv and appxsvc.
This wasn't there before. Uninstalled, problem gone.
EDIT I reinstalled seems to be OK now

Saturday morning started the PC: during the startup with the bios texts, there were short vertical lines through the text. Then it got as far as the first appearance of the windows logo and then it restarted etc. Finally it asked if it can repair windows. Tried, no success, stuck in that loop. Few times hard restart, nothing. Finally, with help of internet searches, managed to get into this blue admin page with options to repair and advance options etc. Tried everything but no results.

Going back to earlier functional windows showed me ONE option of September 2021, no options to roll this update back or any recent points.

I am now trying to get the last non-windows data from that disk and then try repair through USB drive or complete clean reinstall.

To be clear, I cannot get into Windows at all, so any advice like safe mode or whatever does not work, cannot get there.

I saw one remark on internet somebody explaining that he got info update was ready, restarted and get stuck in a similar way because actually the updating was not ready yet. MAybe this happened here as well? Program in the middel of switching from one version to the enxt, and cannot go forward or backward?

Any idea how to solve this?

I run an old but still very good self-built system. Built in 2012 for video editing, with 16gb RAM, Intel i7 CPU and good video card. OS, video work, and daily work on 3 SSD's, to large HDDs for data backup.

You stopped that screen, so you quitted the installation of the update halfway?
