Can't install the update, even I reinstall Windows 10 and .NET Framework 4.8.1, I always receiving error 0x80092004. Tried to sfc /scan now and DISM command if there is corrupted Windows files, seems they didn't detect it.

Found the culprit, the February 2023 update for .NET Framework 4.8.1 (KB5022498) seems buggy reason why it can't be installed, even if you done any workarounds. But KB5022502 (Feb 2023 update for .NET Framework 4.8) was installed successfully.

I just download via MUC and install KB5022408 (January 2023 update Preview for .NET Framework 4.8.1) and KB5023319 (Jan 2023 Out-of-Band update) as a temporary workaround.

Woops, MS is too late to address the .NET Framework 4.8.1 February 2023 security update can't be installed in several machines installed with Windows 10 21/22H2.

    Symptom:
    • The .NET Framework 4.8.1 February cumulative update, KB5022498 will not install. This is an issue only occurs after installing the .NET Framework 4.8 February cumulative update, KB5022502, then upgrading to .NET Framework 4.8.1 then scanning for updates.

    Workaround:
Applying the following steps will allow KB5022498to be installed:
    • Uninstall 4.8 February update (KB5022502 )
    • Run command from elevated Command Promp: dism/online /cleanup-image /StartComponentCleanup
    • Scan for windows update again, 4.8.1 February update (KB5022498) installs as expected.

    Resolution:
    • On March 29, 2023, KB5022498 was re-released to correct this issue.
