Clutching at straws: Age of the CPU in the system indicative of the delay in getting the update? Mine is an i5. The current version 21H2 was done via WUA as WU never offered it also.

Yes, it's a Preview. But Brink says it's 19045.2193.

Ran WU @ 7:20P and got KB5018858 & KB5018482. 8858 installed in a minute, 8482 has been installing for over 30 min. at 21%. MoUSCO & Windows Installer Module have been running nonstop since & consuming a lot of CPU. Will 8482 allow WU update to 22H2?
Update took 1 hour and 20 minutes. Ran WU afterwards and no update to 22H2 offered.

The '5' in i5 is no indication of the age of your CPU. It is just an indication of the features of that processor within its generation. I have an i5 7400, ca. 2018 or thereabouts. Seventh gen, 4 cores, etc. Though the nomenclature isn't consistent or always informative. But if you have an i5 xyyy, it's the x tells you the 'generation', and therefore, roughly the age. In my case, I have a seventh gen i5, and I have gotten the 22H2 update.
Every generation has an i3, i5, i7. They are marketing differentiations, signifying different feature sets within that generation.
sgage: My i5 is a 2320 as shown in the my computer specs. It was a W7 machine originally when purchased in 2010 well prior to W10 being released.
