    UPDFATE 7/6: New Microsoft 365 Current Channel v2206 build 15330.20230 - July 06

    Version 2206 (Build 15330.20196)

    Feature updates

    Excel
    • Copy data from the status bar: Quickly copy information from aggregations like "Sum," "Average," and "Count" from the status bar.
      See details in blog post
    • Find your data faster: The AutoFilter function is now noticeably faster! These improvements were achieved by reducing memory usage and optimizing the calls made by the filter’s comparison algorithm. The optimizations are especially noticeable on low-end devices that have less memory or slower CPU-memory throughput. Learn more
    • Speeding up Formula Entry: Excel has sped up entering a formula in a cell noticeably by reducing memory usage, making more efficient use of allocated memory, and optimizing redrawing. These optimizations are more noticeable on devices with slower Memory or slower CPU-Memory throughput as well as for larger cell ranges.

    PowerPoint
    • Text Anchored Comments: As part of PowerPoint's modern comments, customers will now have the ability to anchor comments to specific ranges of text.

    Resolved issues

    Excel
    • We fixed an issue where shared workbooks in .xls format may improperly merge changes.
    • We fixed an issue where an AMSI scan would cause the app to close unexpectedly.
    • We fixed an issue that caused Excel to close unexpectedly when showing live preview of a chart.

    Outlook
    • We fixed an issue that prevented the Room Finder from loading in the GCC-High environment.
    • We fixed an issue where users were not able to add room mailboxes to the calendar.

    PowerPoint
    • We fixed an issue where changing the sensitivity label on a document while coauthoring with others might lose the picked sensitivity label.
    • We fixed an issue where mandatory sensitivity labeling was not required for save-as when using browse to a location.

    Word
    • We fixed an issue where nested fields in headers display incorrectly while scrolling.

    Office Suite
    • We fixed an issue where we attempt font downloads in cases they are known and expected to stop working during downloading, which results in unnecessary resources being used.

here is a good one from MS.
I had this updated MS Office version v2206 build 15330.20196 (Current Build) and mine is Pro Plus 2021.

checked for updates today 6th July, and it updated BACKWARDS to the Previous version of
    2205.15225.20288

    Huh? anyone know why?
Did this on 2 other PCs exactly the same backward update.

Thanks for that, I did do some googling but found nothing.

Recall is an interesting word to use, I guess we are giving something back, I am used to recalls in auto industry which is only associated with safety.

BTW Interesting response...and I agree. M$ is a company i have zero respect for.

By Microsoft’s own record, they knew of the update bug on 24 June 2022 but it took them until 4 July … at least 10 days before reversing the update.

There’s no excuse for that kind of delay. They had plenty of bug reports from users who had identified the specific update as the culprit. Armed with that clue, it should not have taken long to confirm that. Even given the complexity of Office updates, ten days before reverting the patch is far too long.

Microsoft needs to look at their bureaucracy that allows their paying customers to be left hanging for over a week. Don’t hold your breath for any corporate self-criticism though, Microsoft seems to feel the problem is over.

    Great job M$

OK now I have an issue with 1 of my PC's with Click to run office 21 pro plus.
When I click on shortcut to open WORD, nothing happens, prog will not open, all my other 5 PC with same app work perfectly.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled and still same issue.
Apologies to ask, but cant think of what to do.
    MS office repair does nothing.

Done another clean up and uninstall, deleted any directories left behind of Office after reboot, rebooted PC again, ran fresh install of OFFICE 21, and still the same, OFFICE even auto updates to the current version, but I still can not get into even view say "WORD" App, nothing happens.
When I go to file location and click on PowerPoint APP I get this..

That looks like you're still clicking a shortcut. Try navigating to that folder and running the .exe.

Also, have you tried restarting the computer (not shutdown then powerup).

Ok, I use US PC Matic, my other PCs use PC matic and don't have issue with Office on those, even turned off Antivirus and installed and still won't open. I will read links, and many thanks for your help...again.

Many thanks my friend, I finally got the 1 of 6 Microsoft Office 2021 Pro plus to launch and work (all other 5 were fine).

Funny I remember once I found this fix and done it that this happened once to me about 15 years ago, my memory is not as good now I am an old man. (well close to 70yo).

I think it may have been a CCleaner Run I did as a 'CCleanerDeactivator' line was present in one of the registry files for two of the programs (Access and Publisher).

Anyway, I had to delete each registry for each MS Office Prog (Word, Excel, PP, Note, etc), restart PC and they all came back, even my Office Activation Key was there and OK, only thing I had to reload were all my email accounts in Outlook.

This is what worked for me..
    1. open run (Windows key + r)
    2. regedit as admin.
    3. navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Option
    4. delete the folders of the apps that don`t work.
    5. Restart PC.
    6. Try shortcuts again, should work.
    7. If you use Outlook, email accounts will each need to be reloaded (login).

    YT Vid here too..

Thank you again my Guru friend,
