Let me try to clear this up a bit... when you go from 10240 Pro to 10532 Pro it will remain activated.. mine did. But when you go from 10240 Enterprise to 10532 Enterprise you need to reactivate via a different method, And from the image you posted in #227 it shows that your using Enterprise and not Pro.

    See:
    Attachment 34936

When I signed up for the Windows 10 Preview it installed the Enterprise version & I've updated successfully to build 10240 which have, from memory, always required a product key to successfully register; this was running on a different HD to my Windows 7 Pro SSD.

When Windows 10 was released, I upgraded on SSD from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro & then did a clean install.

On my 2nd HD Windows 10 Enterprise build I updated from build 10240 (Activated) to build 10532 which is now asking me to activate.

Yes, Win10 Enterprise pre-RTM builds had pre-release keys, but 10240 should have deactivated you, as Enterprise only works with volume licencing.

If you want, you can reinstall a pre-RTM Enterprise build activate it with a pre-release key, then upgrade straight to 10532 and see if it remains activated.

Tho if you're telling me that you successfully upgraded from pre-RTM to 10240 and remained activated, then you can also keep your Enterprise install on 10240 and upgrade to Insider builds on your Pro SKU.

Or just wipe Enterprise and replace it with Pro lol. It should install and activate after reading your HWID, and then you can have one RTM Pro partition and a seperate Insider partition.

i understand microsoft planning to keep win10 platform for long time
so user will only need to update/upgrade but it will stay in same platform (similar to macOS)
but i didnt get about this build release

in past, there no newer build after RTM right ? like win7 7600
so in win10 build will keep changing with update?
rather than keeping numbering like 10.1 - 10.2 and so on ?

    Hi

Yesterday, I installed the official Italian version of Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit and I activated the "Fast ring" upgrade option.

I checked for its updates, but Windows did not install the build 10532. Why?

    Thanks

    Bye

Yes, post-release updates generally didn't add new features (just Service Packs and 8.1), whereas 10 does (tho won't happen until the first "feature update" for consumers).

    Lets see.
    Oh, great better CONTEXT MENUS.

    The Laundry List...

    Aero Glass STILL 3rd party.

Low res NATIVE APP ICONS inside the Start Menu Area and you still can't use Obly Tile to create High Resolution ones. The Windows ICO format is still limited to 256x256 so any Native App that is in the start menu is NOT scaled properly. Try using a 4k monitor and look at start menu.

They can easily create a new system that uses a picture linked to the shortcut instead of an Icon. That's pretty much what Obly Tile used.

    Speaking of Scaling issues.
Needs BETTER 4K monitor support. This is the way of the future.
Nothing scales evenly as well as what "I" deem to be the resolution is what I want and you have no possibility to go against the recommended resolution. You can't even change the recommended resolution.

I spent hours trying to keep Windows at 1080p despite the capability to use 4k for personal reasons yet Windows wants to do what the hell it wants despite ME telling it. Every time I logged in it reset my resolution to 3840x2160 resetting all my icons I placed to the left side of the screen. Needless to say I got pissed instead of enjoying my computing experience.

Even when I got it stabilized at 4k resolution if I left the computer on and turned the monitor off taking a break...The icons and anything on my desktop would be left justified when I turned the monitor back on. Meaning it booted up through the resolutions and Windows decided on it's own to place Icons and stuff where IT wanted and not where I left it.
    That's not a whine, complaint or preference...THAT'S A BUG!

What I ended up doing is going into NVidia's advance control panel and disabling some HDMI report feature. So instead of personal preference THE USER has to disable the Computer from making choices for him.

Stop this automation crap! It's NOT working and frustrating people. What an Engineer outsourced from India wants is NOT necessarily what the home consumer wants or needs. So please, end this crap already.
Start out at 640x480 with a list of what's possible and let ME make the decision of resolution.

I paired My Galaxy S5 through the USB and the moment I pressed the button on my S5 to to bring up the Audio player Win 10 crashed to blue screen.

Still haven't brought back individual folders size and position although ShellFolderFixUI still does a decent job on 10 despite working like crap on 8 and 8.1.

Returning Gadgets through 3rd party do not scale correctly. I don't expect that to be fixed by MS despite consumer wishes.

No ability to use classic menu's instead of the Ribbon without a hack, again ...I don't expect that to be fixed by MS despite consumer wishes.

Left justify in Folders view can not be turned off. When working with thousands of files, cut and paste. Left justify bounces your folder around. An aspect of Windows that will NEVER be changed regardless of complaints over the years.

Long File name limitations in the 21st century.
I had to find a 3rd party tool to delete an archived web page because it wouldn't let me rename, move or anything due to LONG FILE NAME limitations in Windows.

Deleting an open folder STILL may either open dozens of the same folder and contents that was the parent folder OR close every folder and reset the desktop. Happens to me all the time.

Yesterday minding my own business working on some files all of a sudden my desktop crashed and reset out of the blue. Nothing special, no malware, no viruses, no hacks. Just bloop and reset.

Multi Monitor support REALLY sucks. No ability to blank just one of the Monitors without 3rd party. How long has this been going on....Since the beginning. What happened to common sense MS?

I have a touch screen computer with an external monitor. Start a video on the external then why can't I just blank the touchscreen until I touch it again? Nope, I have to watch two video's playing at the same time because I can't just turn the monitor off and Alt F5 is not the same on a touchscreen all-in-one as it is on a Laptop.

Speaking of Touchscreen, why is it tied to the mouse despite being a different entity.
Touch screen in Windows 10 is archaic at best even when I use it on Windows Apps.
Some of the Task Bar doesn't wok correctly as well as the context menus.
Grabbing windows and stretching them is a huge pain and I have a 10 point touchscreen which is very versatile.
Resizing any browser INCLUDING EDGE is a harassment of intelligence at best. It doesn't work well.

Need better Blutooth 4 support. That may actually be a 3rd party driver issue.

Better control over themeing and colors. I am still pissed about the AERO Glass not being returned as an option.

I have a neutral background yet I am stuck with gray windows. I had to change that because the high contrast white windows of my last wallpaper. Someone really has retarded engineers working for them. Windows 7 was EYE Candy, Lollipops and Rainbows. Windows 10 is a sterile operating room that has a machine that goes PING.

The inability to change the dark HERO login screen picture without a 3rd party.

The Inability to install on a PC with a CPU not supporting the NX Bit regardless of it's power.
Even if you try to install the 32 bit version of Windows 10 it will NOT boot without an NX bit when 32 bit versions from past experience don't use NX. I may be wrong on that.

Maybe the writers of the installation program decided to not bother and used a blanket setup but from what I read you could install Windows 8 and 8.1 x86 on a 64 bit CPU without NX. Some have even patched the the x64 version of 8/8.1 and it works fine.

Windows 7x64 works just fine on a PC without an NX Bit so it's a kernel problem I guess.

No plugin ability for edge as well as round about ways to set default home page to GOOGLE and NOT BING.
Although I do like Bing's new maps.

I only use Edge to read PDF's.
As long as they refuse to put an Adblocker on their browser I will be using Firefox.
Being as EDGE has no Active X functionality I can't use the new, super fantastic, browser....to do a simple thing like view my Security Cameras so I have to maintain Internet Explorer. Which is the ONLY reason why I use IE.
Don't feel bad I can't use Firefox for my Cameras either because if I could I would.

If I or any consumer wishes to turn Windows Defender off then where does MS get the balls to just turn it back on despite what we want? I just disabled it all together and went 3rd party. That's what you get when you get NO choice.
    Prohibition never solved anything.

As far as the Automatic updates, once again MS dropped the ball. It should be a choice and not take it or leave it because now it's completely disabled and 3rd party's are creating their own version of Windows Update that uses 3rd party servers. Very easy when you think about it.

Here is why I support this. It's not just lack of CHOICE of what to do on MY PROPERTY but what works for me does not necessarily work for you.

I was sitting and playing a game when my screen blanked out. Come to find Windows, in it's wisdom, decided to install an updated NVidia Graphics driver behind my back. I didn't ask it too, it just did. Not only that it also decided, against my wishes, to install the full version of goodies that come with the driver.

I DON'T WANT NVIDIA'S GForce Experience or their 3D setup but there it was.

Some packages install optional crap that interfere with the enjoyment of MY PERSONAL COMPUTER. Remember that old tern PERSONAL, well no longer with MS.

As long as MS uses telemetry I refuse to use any of their flagship product changes that force you to sign in and use a cloud service.

That's my and many others opinion and I seriously doubt that will change any policies at MS.
The troubles with the NSA and secretly installing what I deem Malware onto peoples personal property NAMELY Win 7, 8 and 8.1 under the disguise of necessary updates it shows that Microsoft can NOT be trusted so they lost credibility when it comes to privacy and their cloud services. That Twelve Mile Long EULA doesn't help either. REGARDLESS that "GOOGLE does it"

Hopefully this long list of issues that I have found in the month I have been using 10 will reach MS and be worked on. Maybe some of it but MS has a loooooong history of ignoring consumers until it hits them in their wallet.

    P.S. Cortana, DISABLED.
Until it's an option for CORTANA to keep my secrets. As in only used within the confines of my home or private network then she's deemed a blabber mouth and will sleep until then.
If I asked CORTANA to play some porn on MY PRIVATE COMPUTER I don't want it searching the net and telling Microsoft that I want more video's of Japanese chicks throwing up on each other.

What do you want for such little money, M$ to tailor an O/S specially for you?

I am having a problem with my laptop insider build. I get a message that 'something went wrong' and I need to go to insider hub for alerts and browse answers forums. Well, lots of luck. The error code I get is 0x80310052. anyone have a clue I have used this build - 10532 for several days and suddenly this message appears in my UPDATES and SECURITY under advanced options. Shows I am not on insider builds because of a problem and says FIX ME.

    You mean this problem? http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/i...6-5f6ca8a04069

I had it as I changed the name of my PC. Fix was to sign into OneDrive for the MS account you are using for the insider build and delete any PC names you aren't using.
