When it has an ad blocker, and when click/holding the back button shows a reverse-chronological list of sites visited, I will try it some more. I currently find it unpleasant to work with. It is fast, though! Someday I'm sure it will be a great browser...

Those are only ones installation pronounced incompatible and removed them. everything else works, GPU-Z and SSD-Z too. I was watching installation of 10532, it was at very end when message popped up and went out without confirmation box. Actually, this is first time something like that happened.

Build upgrades have always uninstalled Speccy, too. The upgrade process must consult some sort of blacklist...

Ah, that was what I was wondering about . . . whether it gave me a chance to say yes or no. That makes the possibility that it took my app out a little more certain.

The kicker is that they installed and run fine after update.

I agree with the comments regarding Edge, it has a ways to go yet before I would consider using it instead of FireFox.

Edge is a Modern WinRT app like IE Immersive in 8/8.1. I don't think we'll see add-ons in it ever just as in IE Immersive. Nor do I think will we see other bells and whistles. I could be wrong. Just my thoughts.

So far as ad blocker, there is the Reading mode in Edge. Here's 2 screenshots of the same article.

Here's a snip of Edge vs IE in Task Manager. Edge uses far less resources as an open app.

But, Edge has a "Content Process" that eats a lot.

Why a free 10 along with Edge? The article below is one explanation. Keep in mind IE and/or any other browser can be used in 10.

I seem to recall Gabe saying that extensions would be coming to Edge eventually. Without an ad blocker, Edge is a non-starter for me and I'll bet an awful lot of other folks...

Thanks for the reading mode tip - I hadn't known that it blocked ads. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on many (ad-laden) sites, e.g. nytimes.com.

No, the Reading mode doesn't work on all sites and wondering why myself.

Generally I don't think users mind the ads, but it's gotten to be were there are so Fn many of them, especially video ads shoved in our faces. Or pop-ups. I'd like to see at least a pop-up blocker in Edge. One doesn't need to install Flash to see a lot of the vids.

Ads are a necessity to keep sites such as this one running. I understand that 100%, but like I said a lot of sites are getting way out of hand. No tact whatsoever.

I don't mind ads per se, because I can generally ignore them! What I hate is to be looking something serious up and having an ad blare out with a loud voice or one that will jump up and down. Those kinds really hack me off, and I tend not to go to those sites again.
