After the development by Apple of its M-series ... aren't Intel and AMD becoming irrelevant?

IMHO, I think Intel and AMD will always be relevant. A lot of people that will not want to jump on the Apple band wagon. I have never been impressed with Apple products. Being an Apple user is almost like a cult, and the products are way overpriced.

Can't be serious? Can't see many companies switching over.

I wasn't suggesting a switch to the Mac. I was thinking about PCs moving to the Apple processor.

Intel had its day ... which lasted for forty years.
But times change. If Intel doesn't step up its game in a MAJOR way then the competition could eat its lunch.
    It has happened before.

As for PC makers being unwilling to switch? Well ... they resisted AMD for years ... but no more.

And Apple moved from MC68xxx to Power PC to Intel ... to M1.

    Change happens.
