What happens if you go to Windows Settings -> Activation and click on "Find your product key" link under "Help from the web" on the right side? (this is just one example I picked from Windows Settings links)
Does the link open in any browser? If not, this is one reason for the general population to leave Edge installed.

Ok, I'm back on Win 10, but I can't find what you're talking about.
They changed a lot of stiff to do with Settings in the later versions of Win 10.
When I go to Settings > Update and Security > Activation... I see this.
