Worked on my laptop OK, but in the process re-installed a downgraded video driver for the built-in ATI Mobility Raedon HD 4250 that is so limited to effectively disable the laptop. The built-in 15.6" screen is 1024 x 576 or some such, and the driver supports only 1024 x 768 (which distorts and cuts off the bottom of the screen) or 800 x 600. The driver does not support driving an external display, and a principal function of the laptop is driving a projector to give presentations, and at home I use it on a KVM switch. So, it's only remaining function is to use it for email when away from home.

I backed out of an update to get the older Microsoft driver back (the latest ATI driver was for Windows 8.1, which stopped working on Windows 10 after about build 2004). If I can't get a workable driver in this laptop, I'll have to go to Linux on it.

EDIT: sfc.exe /scannow found several instances of a directory having ownership/security settings set twice. This does not seem consequential, but may (or may not) be helpful to Microsoft in their work in developing updates. I can produce these segments of the log on request.

EDIT: I found a way to get the ATI driver for Widows 8.1 to load again, re-enabling everything for the laptop. I'll put the intstructions on the thread for that problem.

Will wait for second tuesday of next month , so MS has more time to fix bugs in this update ( if still present ).........
Why so much hurry with these "previews" , while you may get a better update a few days later !

Now Installed on 4 desktops and 2 laptops. Had to do a repair install on one of the desktops as I mentioned in a previous post. These updates took all computers from 21H1 19044.1348 to 21H2 19044.1387. I had 3 updates, one for the NET, one for the update to 21H2, and finally this one (KB5007253) Other then the one desktop all updates installed without any problems.

With some reluctance I updated today. Ran SFC and DISM no errors reported. Only time will tell!

Having problem on this computer with this update.

Checked for updates today and the updates that were available were Feature update to Windows 10, version 21H2 and the Net update. I was previously on 21H1 19044.1348. Both updates installed successfully. I am now at 21H2 19044.1348.

After that update, this was available as optional update "2021-11 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5007253)". When I try to install I get the following error "Failed to install on 11/22/2021 - 0xe0000100. SFC /scannow shows no errors and neither does DISM.

In process of doing a repair install in-place upgrade to see if that will fix the problem. Normally when I have this problem I have SFC or DISM problems but not this time.
    Interesting... Check this out:

[SOLVED] - Windows 10 - KB5007186 (Nov CU) ends up with 0xe0000100 | Sysnative Forums

(please also read the referenced-there thread back from 2019)

Needless to say that such error (?) is unrepairable with SFC or DISM...

When I did a windows update search for this kb it was not offered to me. The cause was the "install windows 11 banner" on the windows update page. I had to click on "stayed on windows 10 for the moment" for the kb to appear in download. This is stupid from microsoft.

This update is a Cumulative Update Preview.
This is an early release of the December 14th update. It's also optional.

I didn't know it was a Cumulative Update Preview. So when it will be offered around December 14, it will be offered even if the install windows 11 banner is displayed.
It cannot be uninstalled, I could not test ... That people beware if they have no more kb it could be the windows 11 banner.
