AMD FX-8370 machine upgraded OK, other than recurring problem of failing to boot after some OS updates. Recovery is to boot to Windows RE on a thumb drive, run boot repair, which reports failure but "exit to Windows" boots successfully. Apparently BCD or associated data is missing. Luckily enough, it finally finished and rebooted. Phew!!. Goodness me, what a relief.
So far, I have not encountered anything yet to report.
Direct storage was of of the few new features touted for Windows 11. Microsoft later had indicated it would be supported for Windows 10. I guess that is never going to happen. It isn't in Windows 11 either as far as I know. I hadn't seen it even in the dev branch of Windows 11. So as far as I can tell Windows 11 has no new features, only a long list of issues
