Hello Windows Insiders, today we are releasing Windows 10, 21H2 Build 19044.1320 (KB5006738) to the Release Preview Channel for those Insiders who are on Windows 10, version 21H2.

This update includes the improvements from Build 19043.1319 plus the following additional change:

    • We fixed a known issue that might prevent the successful installation of printers using the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP).

To check and see if you’re running Windows 10, version 21H1, just type “winver” into the Windows search box on the Taskbar. It should show as “Version 21H1”.

To check and see if you’re running Windows 10, version 21H2, just type “winver” into the Windows search box on the Taskbar. It should show as “Version 21H2”.

For all the details on the 21H2 release – check out John Cable’s blog post.

    Thanks,
    The Windows Insider Program Team

I am being offered this update as an option, but I am not part of the insider program (that I know of). Why?

Because you don't need to be an Insider to get it, it's also a WIN Update

    KB5006738 Windows 10 2004 19041.1320, 20H2 19042.1320, 21H1 19043.1320

Hmm... I had to go back on Insider to get it, which I've just done today.

It's not offered on 19044, at least not here.

It wasn't offered to me (on 19044) either. I just downloaded the .msu from above and installed it that way.
    I'm not an Insider.

    KB5006738 Windows 10 2004 19041.1320, 20H2 19042.1320, 21H1 19043.1320

Btw, FF 93.0 (on Oct 26th), wouldn't let me download the .msu file, because it's from an http (no s) site.
See the post #7 at that link above, for the solution.

I checked just now on FF 94.0... same thing.

It "appears" to download and save the file to my Desktop. But it's a 0 byte file, which is kind of hard to install.
But I just open the Downloads Library, and right click and choose "Allow download", to get the actual file.

Long story, short... I installed it on Oct 26th, and Windows has been fine ever since.

    Thanks Ghot.
I've had it installed for a while and then got rid of it just to see if it would appear and I got it on a non insider 19043 but not 19044. This is so confusing RP and the optional update preview and I thought that we were already on 19044. plus, there isn't much of an update here except certain printer issues, ''STILL".

Optional updates, I find this so silly. Half the time Jo blow at home has no idea if he or she wants or needs it.

If I'm not mistaken, we'll all be on 19044 after the November update, absent those folk that forcibly stay on 19043 or earlier.
