No, MS said they would not guarantee updates in future to noncompliant systems, not that they wouldn't get any. They could stop updating noncompliant systems any time. For all we know, this could just be a one-time update just to get the initial CU out there.
Or for their own study by analyzing how the update will fare on unsupported devices. It can be a while before they really start blocking the latter. For all that I know, unsupported devices will not receive security Updates whenever they decide to really apply their stringent rules.

Are those devices going to receive two, three or four more security Updates?. I think we will know soon enough.

Segueing to this Update (KB5006670), It has installed smoothly; nothing that I can report for now.

The thing about all of this wondering and speculating about what's going to happen with updates, etc., is that it could all be settled by one clear communication from MS as to what their plan is. Why should there even be any question? People need to plan. If MS intends to cut noncompliant machines off from updates, next month or whatever, I'd like to know. If they are, I'll just wipe Windows 11 from my machine and carry on. I have never known a corporation to be worse at communication than MS. It's mind-boggling sometimes, it really is. What are they playing at? They must know what they plan to do - TELL US!

Totally, totally agree. That has been a problem for the vast majority of users with MS. I even wonder sometimes if they really know themselves how they are going to proceed next. Most of the time, things are just hanging in the balance and we, common mortals, are trying to figure it all out.

The lack of a SSU this month sped up the process a little since that meant a little less System Restore scoping to slow things down for me. So that's a nice development to feel slightly more efficient.
