" This update breaks printer sharing over local networks. "............tested severely, printing over the network , from one desktop to my HP-printer ( not over USB) , works fine with latest MS-update !
What printer are you using , btw ?
Had these problems before with a Canon-printer , also...........

I think I've matched your recommendations.
    KB5005565 Windows 10 2004 19041.1237, 20H2 19042.1237, 21H1 19043.1237-adv-opts-deliv-opt.jpg

Thank you very much for the reminder and information. I'm sure this will help me to avoid those dreadfully slow update-downloads.

re: your post #103 above, see Farvatten's recommendations (page 12 above, 116 & 119) and my response. Might help; can't hurt.

    Two different printers
    Canon MF3240
    Epson Artisan 810

Seems to be a networking type issue. The other PCs can see the printers, they just can't print to them.
Get an error code 0x0000011b on wifi laptop
Get nothing (no action or message) on Ethernet desktop.

Can't install a printer either when the update was active.

" Can't install a printer either when the update was active."...........very annoying , M$ will certainly fix it with a new update. ( they did so with previous print-errors)
I should wait with reversing the update , if you dont print much.............

Yahbut, ... All three of mine are on high-speed satellite connections and all three have only SSDs (2 each), and all three took over an hour to just get the downloads. My downloads of large files from sites other than MSUpdate are fast; really fast.

The only speed problem on my computers shows up on Patch Tuesday, and only with the updates.

    It's not a local problem; it's Microsoft.

Two minute download here in the desert in New Mexico.

This initially simple thread has branched into at least three separate and unrelated issues:

Downloads and installs of 5005565 were extremely slow for some users. Reasons for this and possible solutions/remedies have been discussed.

The Enablement Package was a way for the non-insiders to bump up to 21H2; 5005565 did not bump users to that level, it just moved the index number to 1237. Insiders were offered 21H2 without having to use the Enablement Package. A lot of confused discussion of what the Enablement Package and the major update (5005565) actually did, and for whom ensued.

Installing 5005565 broke some printer connections, especially (if not exclusively) those between wirelessly connected machines and their printers if their connections were routed through a wired-connection machine. If the printer is wirelessly connected to all machines, 5005565 has no impact on that connection. In cases where the printer is connected to the router, and all machines connect to the printer through the router (wirelessly) there was no impact. The bottom line on this seems to be that if 5005565 is uninstalled on the wired gateway computer (the one through which other machines gain access to the printer in this setup) but left installed in the others, there is no impact.

I'm not absolutely sure that's all absolutely correct, but I hope it is, and I hope this summary will help to resolve some of the multi-topic muddle this thread has become.

I have two Windows machines that WU updated with KB5005565. I have one printer on WiFi and two on Ethernet, and KB5005565 apparently had no effect on those connections.

    So you have three printers?

The question is, does a computer that is connected to one of your printers on wi-fi connect to that printer if and only if one of your other computers is on? If your wi-fi connection to a printer does not depend on a "gateway" computer being on, then there should be no problem, and since you're having no problem, ...
