" To move to 21H2 (just for the fun of it, because there's no noticeable benefit, it just looks nice "................ok, no reason at all , without any benefit.........

Another horrendous monthly update has begun.

Start with one computer, 90 minutes later its at 74%. Other computer hasn't moved from 0%.

    Done with this.

That was my experience this month: over two hours to get the download to 100, then thirty minutes until Install began, and then hangs at @ 25% and 75% that added another hour ... per machine. Oy, vey!

But whatcha gonna do, huh? Others had really good, fast downloads and installs.

Maybe you've got to consider moving out of the middle of the Sahara, to get better connections.

Connection is fine, high speed in fact. It's the updates that are messed. Every month.

At least someone posts a real world timeline. I'm not sure I believe when people are done in 10 minutes.

I suspect you're right. It's Microsoft's servers and Microsoft's coders we have to blame.

Ain't gonna win no prizes fighting them adversaries.

One of mine tool just over an hour, the others 10-15 mins. The difference, all the fast ones had SSDs.

Updated two machines, an older high-end workstation and an old Windows 7 low-end laptop from eBay. Both had a few cross-linked folders detected and repaired by sfc.exe /scannow. Second SFC run was clean. Check with dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth seemed to detect and fix something on the laptop. Both are fine, and WU history shows that update was successful.
