There is something wrong with this update. I am not facing any printers issue since I have no printer installed but I am getting random errors.

Ever since I have installed it I get random flickering of my screen although I have the latest graphics drivers installed for my 3080. These were not there before this update.

Also one more thing at random times the screens goes completely black for me and only the mouse curser can be seen and can be moved around the black screen I mean the Windows OS just completely vanishes. It does feels like a BSOD but the only difference is that instead of being blue like I previously said that instead of being blue and showing text with blue BDOS error screen (it is completely black and only the mouse curser is working) nothing else works not even ALT+CTRL+DEL.

Sadly when this occurs I have to maunally restart my pc to fix it. This happens atleast once a day on a daily basis since this update. Is anyone else facing this issues ???

Open a command prompt with Administrative priveleges [Start, right-click, select "Command Prompt (Admin)"], then run these one at a time:
    sfc.exe /scannow
    dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

If SFE finds an error, run it again before you run DISM.

Probably best to reboot between each run.

Thank you for mentioning that, not a bad idea, from what I've heard about some errors that SFC corrects. If SFE does NOT find any errors, I would suppose that it's OK to go ahead and run DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth without rebooting.

Yeah, I think it's only needed if errors are found.

I suggest you find out if the problem symptoms also happen for
    - another user account [even if you have to create one in order to test this]
    - in Safe mode Boot into Safe Mode - TenForumsTutorials
Knowing these facts will help with diagnosis.

If, just leaping ahead a bit, the answers are
    - Yes, another user is also affected, and
    - No, no fault symptoms in Safe mode, then
I suggest going to your computer maker / display card maker to get another copy of the display driver and reinstalling it [just checking for updates does not have the same effect as reinstallation].

    Hi,
This may be related or not, but I had similar symptoms with my RTX 2060 a couple of weeks ago, it turned out to be a bad quality HDMI cable connecting the Display Adapter to the Monitor (Samsung 4K TV), I replaced the cable and never had that problem again. Had to use a shielded High speed cable, the normal ones did not work and still had the problems. See different cable categories on this link:

Ok so let me start and I will add replies to the solutions shared above. I also wrote on NVIDIA forums this was my post

Can someone please please please help me. I am facing this issue since quite sometime now. My monitor screen keeps turning on/off (black screen for a second or two) all the time. This happens randomly even when I browse the net.

This is not a gpu issue since this was happening on my older 2070 as well and I am still facing it on my recently bought 3080. It has been the same issue since over a year. I do not know of any other hardware issues that I have. Ram's are also working fine too have tried them in my other pc. I have bought and tried multiple HDMI cables as well and also tried hooking it to another display still the same issue. I have also googled about it and have not found any help online. Is this due to a bottleneck of some kind ? I honestly do not know.

Please have a look at the 2 attached videos to better understand my issue and cam someone please help me out here and get me out of this lingering annoying issue. I will be grateful to you and will be in eternal debt. Stay blessed y'all.

    My configuration is :
    1) Processor: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X 16-Core Processor 3.60 GHz 14nm Technology (16 core, 32 Threads Processor) 3.60 GHz Base
    2) Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. ROG STRIX X399-E GAMING (SP3r2)
    3) GPU: 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (ZOTAC International)
    4) Memory: Corsair DDR4-2132 (3000 MHz) 64 GB Memory
    5) Cooling: CORSAIR Hydro Series H80i v2 Liquid CPU Cooler, 120mm Thick Radiator Dual 120mm SP Series PWM Fans
    6) PSU: RAIDMAX Vampire RX-1000GH Continuous 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified
    7) Monitor: Samsung 40'' UA40N5300 Screen Resolution: 1920x1080@50Hz
    8) Hard Drive: 1 X Samsung SSD 970 PRO 512GB (SSD) (500 GB), 4 X WD My Book 1140 USB Device (4 TB each)
    9) Case: TT Thermaltake View 31 Tempered Glass RGB Edition
    10) Keyboard: Logitech Illuminated Keyboard K740
    11) OS: Microsoft Windows Pro 10 Version 21H1

I have also posted this in other groups but still have not found any solution please help.

After posting this I got a reply but nothing seemed to work at all. Then I explored myself and tried to play with the settings within the NVIDIA Control Panel myself. Which I then shared in my post in the same thread which stated:

"Thanks for the reply. I has tried everything you wrote in your reply to me. Nut nothing seemed to work for me in the past. Yes the AUDIO did cut off too because the audio wass also being transmitted alongwith the video via the HDMI cable.

Now thank God I was able to rectify the issue on my own. It was some strange settings issue with the Nvidia Control Panel. These are the steps I took :

Nvidia Control Panel > Display > Change Resolution > 3. Apply the following Settings > Use Nvidia Color Settings > Output color Depth > 8 bpc > Apply

Nvidia Control Panel > Display > Change Resolution > 3. Apply the following Settings > Use Nvidia Color Settings > Output Dynamic Range > Full > Apply

And that was it. I was facing this issue since June 2019 and no one was able to resolve it. The most weird thing is that this information to me was not available I even googled about it and no one had ever mentioned it anywhere. So here I am sharing this with the community here if anyone else faces the same issue of screen flickering.

Nvidia forums or the driver page should mention this issue so that many others who are facing this issue know what to do. I suffered with this for almost 2 years sometimes it was bad and I had to restart my pc sometimes it was not that frequent but still it was a nuisance for me. Like they say all is well that ends well. So good luck to other who face the same issue. Take care."

After this the flcikering stopped completely for me. I faced it only once or twice in the past month or so. So all was good until this Microsoft update KB5005565 was installed and I again started facing it. As for the your solutions I am replying below

    Tried both
    sfc.exe /scannow
    dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Everything seems to be ok (Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.) without any errors.

To sum it all currently and the last that I could think of is that I had to manually uninstall KB5005565 and things seems to work as we speak. I have also paused my windows update for 14 days to be on the safe side. As you can see in my above videos that this flickering issue is quite annoying and one cant really do much and use their pc properly when facing it.

I think your monitor is just getting old, tried it on a new monitor?

If the fault symptoms also occurred when in Safe mode then the problem has nothing to do with your nVidia settings because they are not in use during Safe mode.

    @kufr,

From all your descriptions it looks more like a hardware problem.
I still think you should take a look at the different HDMI cables categories in the link below, my screen was not working with the standard cables. Had to use a shielded braided one for High Speed and all the flickering and black screens disappeared after that. I use a Samsung TV 4K for my monitor, but the same problems can happen with lower resolution.
You have a fancy RTX 3080, you can sure afford a better quality HDMI cable ! 😉
Refresh rate is also a factor for picking the right cable.
