    Hi guys,

Always interesting to read you, thanks for educating others :)

I have a simple question: I just finished installing Windows 10 Pro on a workstation, and when I go to Windows Update, I see:
"This PC can run Windows 11".

Do you guys recommend upgrading to Windows 11?

Usually I don't like to rush on the very last version of an OS as most of the time it's still a bit buggy.

    What do you think?

I recommend you make a full backup of your W10 Pro boot drive Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect then give it a try. Some love it, others hate it. This way you can go back to W10 if you don't like it or you can join Windows 11 Forum and keep it if you love it

    Thank you @steve108,

Why I have the feeling I will hate it? ... Maybe because I am used to Win 10 now, and I like it. I'm afraid to get lost with Win 11 new features.

    Thanks again

Not any new features to get lost in, just removed functionality that will probably irritate you. You will probably hate it.

In that case, you might want to inquire about reasons why you should switch to Windows 11. Personally, I haven't found any yet, and like you, I like Windows 10 just fine and it will be supported until October 2025.

I am running both 10 and 11 and maybe there are new features but I haven't found any although there's been some removed. The irritation in my case was the removal of the ability to 'never combine icons' on the taskbar but there is a quick fix for that - thanks to a fellow forum member. Others have reported increased performance, sometimes a decrease in performance, etc. In my case I haven't noticed any difference although I suppose it depends on your rig setup and what you use it for.

Best thing I would have thought would be to try it out and revert back to 10 if it's not for you. Strictly speaking you have 10 days to decide but this can be extended to 60 via a quick DISM fix as is well documented on the forum.

The bottom line is to try it for yourself as it is an individual decision and the only right way to go is the one that you prefer.

" I will probably wait for Windows 12 "...........a very smart choise !
    If you look in the M$-history ; XP good , Vista bad , Win7 good , Win8 bad, Win10 good , Win11.....??? ( any idea ? )

    So , I will certainly wait for 12 .........!!

Nothing wrong with that as there is no "burning need" to upgrade... but the change and learning curve going to Win 12 will be even more dramatic. The upgrade to Win 11 from Win 10 is easier than going from Win 10 to Linux or MacOS.
