Yes, that was the main reason for going back to w10. Performance was okay to be honest. UI "improvements" are a big step back for me. I was unable to find the option to replace cmd.exe with annoying powershell (now called Terminal or something like that). I guess w11 will get a lot better in time, but now it is a hit & miss experience.
I'm most annoyed by the two stage context menus in file explorer and the taskbar removal of right click task manager and the sensitivity now that they've moved the activation zone in around 1.5" from the edge on the right side.
No, Terminal is neither Cmd nor Powershell. It is just what its name says, a terminal within which you can run either of them (or both at once in separate tabs). Which one is the default profile it opens with is chosen in Terminal's own settings.
PS: Command and Powershell aren't the only profiles available. If you have WSL installed, then that will be an available choice too. In fact you can set up a custom profile for any app that has a command line interface.

I haven't bothered checking out Terminal yet, but do wonder what it can do that existing utilities such as Command or Powershell can't. Will it eventually replace them? As it is, there's little I ever need to do with command lines that can't be accomplished with Command run as Administrator.
Terminal is just another window that you can use to access cmd.exe, powershell, or any other command line shell such as WSL. It's more powerful in that you can run all of them in the same place on separate tabs, and even multiple instances in the same tab (I'm sure you could find a use for that).

I took the upgrade as soon as it was offered, but then I had already tested upgrading to 11 and knew all my software and settings would be OK in 11. I ran it like that for 8 weeks, then put back a system image of its original W10 when the official release was due. It was offered the upgrade 15 days later.
When you do decide to take the upgrade, don't let Windows Update do it for you. That is by far the slowest way to upgrade to 11. Now you have been offered 11 it should be safe to use the MCT to make the ISO, then use that to perform an in-place upgrade.
