    Hi,

MS is showing a lack of knowledge of what items provide security. No, it's not just CPU only that will cover their demands.
There are many MB's out there with TPM 2.0 etc.
They should not have made a listing based on CPU specs only. Period.

    Cheers,

There is more than one reason that the Update will not be offered to a specific system.
Apparently, one of those reasons is too often foot dragging.

If anyone wants to manually obtain an installer and proceed with the upgrade they are strongly advised to make sure they have a full working backup of their current install before starting.
I won't install any update – even if Microsoft offers it – unless I have a fresh Macrium backup.

Looks like I'll be staying with WIN 10 on my systems, until both the AMD and Brother Printer issues are resolved. Going to Win 11, at this time, makes little sense and means more technical headaches for me. Besides, I'd like to try 21H2, before Win11, as it might be all I need!

Posted on W 11 forums but as there are a lot more members here If mods do not mind i'll post it here too:

Still working on enabling Secure Boot on Gigabyte BIOS. So far all method require expertise I lack.
W11 installed flawlessly without Secure Boot on.
Do I assume correctly that as my system support Secure boot I don't have to turn it On and I wont have any issue with updates and future upgrade
Heard it from the grapevine that I do not really need it.

    For future generations eh, eh.

    Done
Boot on BIOS, select BIOS>Secure Boot>Secure Boot Mode, select Custom>Secure Boot Enable select Enable> Save & Exit.

Credit where it is due though. I misread the suggestion but I ended up on my feet so to speak
Can'''t enable Secure Boot : buildapc

    Hi folks

Totally given up trying any more to upgrade W10 on this particular machine - wont upgrade whatever.

However Bonkers though it is W11 with direct ISO download installs without issue using Rufus version 3.16. It also has built in option to skip TPM / sec boot too -- although this machine has both -- only CPU is likely to be point of contention.

Bonkers isn't it that I can't go from W10 1909 to later current versions but can install W11 !!!!

    Cheers

There really aren't any bugs that I've noticed.

Well, there is ONE bug... if you set the Taskbar on small icons, the clock and Quick Access icons drop approx. 2mm.
