TheREG File
referred to in the above is . . .
Code:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup] "AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU"=dword:00000001
I converted that into aCMD Prompt Command
. . .
Code:REG ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup" /v AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU /t REG_DWORD /d 00000001 /f
I think @colinp meant to actually post the links fromGitHub
where he putthis script
.
Anyway, here are the DIRECT links . . .
> Skip_TPM_Check_on_Dynamic_Update_v1.cmd
> Skip_TPM_Check_on_Dynamic_Update_v2.cmd
They are BOTH under theMediaCreationTool.bat
=> MediaCreationTool.bat

It's the appraiserres.dll file that needs to be deleted. Bree posted about this yesterday and I used it successfully as explained in
Upgrading with the Windows 11 RTM ISO on a well-below spec computer [my post #266] - ElevenForum
All the best,
Denis
Just thinking aloud, what if MS was using reverse psychology to push W11 ? When they were excessively pushing W8 and 10, there was great resistance, "Oh no,you won't" so now they are playing hard to get placing some restrictions and everybody is clamoring "I wanna, I wanna, ,gimme, gimme"
it seems folks are ignoring my little situation that I am in and can't help me
It may be possible using gpedit to change when updates are offered. Browse to:
Local Computer Policy
Computer Configuration
Administrative Templates
Windows Components
Windows Update
Manage updates offered from Windows update (adjust this setting)
Maybe worth a try.
Win11 was not offered through Windows Update for any of my 3 Laptops.
I used MediaCreationToolW11 to download Win11.ISO on all three.
After Disabling the startups, uninstalling my virus app, setting Malwarebytes not to run on startup, and setting my vpn app not to run on startup, I was ready.
I copied the Win11.ISO file to the desktop, mounted it and ran setup. I let it download updates and the install ran smoothly without a problem on two of the laptops.
The third laptop had a CPU that was unsupported so I made the registry change approved by Microsoft (AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU ) and went through the same procedures listed above and it installed without a hitch also.
