The fun starts later today, If microsoft keeps to their schedule then today is the day - the Windows 11 .ISO will be available for download ... ... and all of the reported hardware requirements will be switched on You will need a v2.0 TPM system active, you will need the ability to use Secure Boot, and you will need to be running a listed processor,

Microsoft may let you run if your Processor is not listed in the acceptable list, but Microsoft has stated that they will offer no support for these systems, this could extend to no automatic updates, and may also include security updates.

It is not guaranteed that anyone will switch on their system today and be met with the message that you can upgrade to windows 11, this may take several months into 2022 before you will be offered the upgrade and indeed the planned start of the upgrade of existing systems is not planned to start until after the holidays

If your system is fully compliant and you are enrolled in the Windows 10 Release Preview program you will be offered the upgrade before those who are not

I've had the official download through WU several times through wIndows Update on Windows 10 - this goes back to the middle of September - and I had the Final beta of 22000.194 before that. Nice to see others catching up finally

I've not installed it yet on my working hardware as I'm in the process of evaluating Image processing software and I don't want to add a new OS into the mix and possibly skew the results of the testing

    Snap.

And compatibility workarounds developed for the IP versions don't work with it.

    All the best,

Got ISO for RTM but fighting the urge to use it now for upgrade, wanna see if it will be offered as regular upgrade tonight at 7PM.
If not I'll use ISO and most probably also do clean install in next couple of days. My W10 survived same installation over W7 way back and now it's getting a bit "rotten" after all those years.

Those steep cpu requirements seem absurd to me (not even for the sake of security). I don't really care about Meltdown/Spectre and such bollocks. So MS just want me to buy new hardware. No thanks.

PS - This is the last time I am getting an Intel system.
