Isn't anybody reading or listening ? Restrictions are NOT about CPU performance but it's security features.

You can turn on all of the security features that are required for 11 in 10 but I wonder if 10 will make use of them or not.

BTW, I set up Windows 11 in a VM using Hyper-V. I did not like the user interface at all. Base on this limited experience I am totally turned off by Windows 11.

Well.. the interface is a separate subject for discussion.

As for the security.. the decision to add that was driven by business and not the average user who I doubt needs it.There's not one single thing MS can do to prevent users from doing stupid things and end up being hacked.

No but security features that only certain CPUs can provide.

Windows 10 makes use of secure boot and TPM 2.0 and device attestation as does Windows 11. Most of TPM is pre-boot and boot-handoff, independent of Windows version. I don't think there is anything new really that would matter much, and if there is, I am sure it could have easily been implemented in Windows 10. This is not the reason for Windows 11 existence.

As for business, I expect there are automated means to ensure all computers on the network are compliant with corporate security polices without a new OS with the number 11 in it

I do thin k the cutoff has something to do with the computer lifecycle in corporations, which is 3-5 years, so I expect that might have been a big consideration in the 8th gen cutoff.
