Upgrading as soon as i can for the one PC that does support Windows 11, i didn't wait for Windows 8.0, woke up at 4am the day Windows 8 released and paid whatever the cost was back then, and got it, and installed it--once it was all clean installed, and updated, then i went back to sleep then

    Windows 8.1 upgraded to Immediately

    Windows 10 same

and Windows 11 i plan to also on my main Desktop
And you plan on helping solve all the glitches that 11 will have? LOL Seriously, you are one of those I envy. Taking such a dangerous step. LOL

Well if any glitches found will report them via Feedback hub, and just wait til fixed, i did same with Windows 8.0, and 8.1 and 10, i'm not the type of person that can stand waiting on updating anything--never have been

Even installing all Windows 10 Feature updates some cleanly, some small ones over the top of old ones--soon as came out

There are unlikely to be any significant glitches in the release version of W11. Most of it is solidly built on the current W10 OS. Where the biggest changes have been made are on the taskbar and the Start menu, and those changes have long been in development for the now cancelled Windows 10X project.

Instead of bringing a product called Windows 10X to market in 2021 like we originally intended, we are leveraging learnings from our journey thus far and accelerating the integration of key foundational 10X technology into other parts of Windows and products at the company. In fact, some of this is already reflected in the core of Windows in Windows Insider preview builds...

I've been running the Insider build of W11 on a test machine for getting on for seven weeks now, using it daily as my main machine. I've had no problems with it.

I also jumped on Win 11 when the DEV build was release but have since switched to BETA. A dangerous step: no, a simple 10 minute restore from a backup is all that is needed to go back to a stable point (Win 10 or earlier working Win 11 CU).
It is running well on my primary laptop, with no outstanding issues. My reasons for running it were to see what it was like, determine if there was any reason why I could not or should not use it, and to help identify any glitches. There were 6 issue that I participated in, and all were fixed. None were show stoppers. In the process I discovered that there were security features on the PC that I was not taking advantage of in Win 10, and those have now been enabled. It was the right move for me.

Hopefully in 2 and half weeks. We'll be able to get the official ISO and MS releases MCT. I'll be doing a fresh install of 11.

Is there any way to make the taskbar small again? The TaskbarSi registry option doesn't seem to work properly.

As Win 11 is basically an updated Win 10 with extras and an effort to make the OS more stable with regard to security, you should be able to use the Tutorials for Win 10 to achieve what you want in Win 11. For those Tutorials that do NOT work, I am SURE that there will be updated Tutorials or options provided.

Scale and layout at 100% is the last thing to try to have it smaller. The registry tweak was working here, not using 11 for now.
    .
    Code:
    reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced" /v "TaskbarSi" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" /f
