Blocking telemetry breaks updates/upgrades? Don't recall seeing this before.

Not that I'm in a great hurry. My [almost] gaming laptop from Lenovo still hasn't received the official Windows 11 updated notification.
Is this normal behavior or should I manually install Windows 11 Pro?

Yes, completely normal. As NavyLCDR said: " Microsoft offers upgrades incrementally...."

In fact Microsoft said that they don't expect the rollout to complete until mid 2022, as you can read by following the link in post #1 of this thread.

Rolling out the free upgrade to Windows 11 in a phased and measured approach

The free upgrade to Windows 11 starts on October 5 and will be phased and measured with a focus on quality. Following the tremendous learnings from Windows 10, we want to make sure we’re providing you with the best possible experience. That means new eligible devices will be offered the upgrade first. The upgrade will then roll out over time to in-market devices based on intelligence models that consider hardware eligibility, reliability metrics, age of device and other factors that impact the upgrade experience. We expect all eligible devices to be offered the free upgrade to Windows 11 by mid-2022.

I had a fully W11 compatible laptop ready and waiting that was less than a year old. I had expected it to be offered on day one, but it wasn't offered through Windows Update until 15 days after the launch.

Thanks. I read that. Like your laptop, mine is less than a year old too. So, I'm surprised I didn't get notified yet. Not that it really matters. My 21H2 19044.1415 build should be supported for a while.

    Hi,
MS will sure let you know if your system isn't compatible though lol
And that reminder will stay there every time you go to the update section
Best practice is don't go to that section

Ha. It's compatible. I successfully passed Microsoft's tests.
It sounds like I need to do a fresh install anyway given my current weird issue: Some web pages not displaying fonts correctly: at a loss here

Thanks for the suggestion. I've done this in the past with mixed results, typically not good results.
