Gone are the days when we knew what every file on our machine was, and could spot something that was out of place. Even today I am finding about new Windows commands that are buried in the OS. This is just going to get more complicated.
You want to uninstall Edge, and Microsoft says that it is an integral to system. It is highly unlikely that they are going to change. So consider Edge the "price of admission". Yes, it takes up some space and maybe some time update, but in the grand scheme of things do you really notice the difference?
I can agree with all of you. I am still going to do what I think best. Based upon what I believe. All of this is just opinion and we all do what we all want to. So whether Edge is a clone or not, I don't need it. Hence uninstall. IE was worse. And that too, is and was uninstalled. If MS wants to insist on it/Edge, then so be it. Firefox is my default and Chrome is there for only one reason. Some web sites or such don't work on Firefox. That is a shame, but apparently unavoidable.
IMHO the new Edge is even better than regular Chrome.
Hi there
if it's basic to the OS just leave it. If you don't use it -- just ignore it - delete from start menu, desktop, start menu etc.
If you say have Sat Nav or a radio that you never use built into a car - would you go to the trouble of removing them -- probably not. too much hassle - especially if you aren't a "natural engineer or motor mechanic".
I prefer FF - I just ignore Edge and it's easy enough in settings to make FF (or whatever browser you want) to the default application --even on W11.
If you need 3rd party uninstallers to uninstall Microsoft components - then don't complain if (and when as you certainly will sooner rather than later I suspect) you break the OS.

You say you are going to do what you think is best and uninstall it. What makes you think that is a good idea?
Forums are full of posts from people who end up screwing things trying to get rid of it.
I had a friend who got rid of it and installed his own preferred browser but something corrupted and he could not access internet to download a new version. I did manage to get it working again after a lot of hassle.
In the end, the best thing to do (based on obvious logic) is to leave it alone and just do not use it, knowing it is there if ever needed in an emergency.
It seems to me you are just so any Edge, you are letting it cloud your judgement.
