Potentially unwanted apps will now be blocked by default in Windows

    OK, thanks. I'm a bit paranoid about things like that. Once bitten and all that...

    I let it run and it said the file was an installer that is in a folder of similar things on the network drive. Not the one I suspected but another that is for something I haven't used in years and isn't currently installed on any of our computers so I gave it permission to remove the file.
    That file was in the folder since 2017 and I know I have accessed that folder from this computer since then. I wonder why it suddenly decided it was a threat?

    Because its not MS they will seek to make sure you install MS APS

    Sounds like a great vehicle for Microsoft to use to exclude apps that are competition for some of theirs. Not for me. I'll always reserve the right to decide what goes on my computer and what doesn't.

    Potentially unwanted apps = System Restore, Defender, Edge, Skype, Candy Crush, Cortana, Windows Maps, News, etc. etc. etc.

    Something tells me none of these will not be "blocked".
