I just run this after WU... it deletes all but the last folder in the LCU folder.
    Command Prompt (as admin)

    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
Problem with that is I usually have only the most recent CU folder in LCU and that's the one I want to delete. Thankfully, I can usually delete anything in the LCU folder although I can't delete the folder itself. My DEV machine is a problem, though, since I can't delete the LCU folder or its contents. I boot with Windows install media, go to Repair > Troubleshoot > Command Prompt and do it from there.

I know HOW to delete the LCU folder. I just don't see the point.
The last (newest) folder in the LCU folder is only about a GB.

What irks me the most when doing a WU. Having to do another WU. Like just now. Updated to W10 19043.1151. Check again and have to dl a. Net update. I wish you could update both at the same time 😂

In my case, they both (CU + .Net Framework) downloaded and installed at the same time. No idea why in yours it is different.

Got this on my production PC with no issues. Slowly upgrading the other 4 machines to that level now. Seems to be OK.

I got .NET installed first while CU was offered as optional so I restarted before letting it install optional CU.

While .Net Framework was installing, I clicked on Download & Install button for the optional one (OOB KB5004296 CU) and waited after they both finished to restart. Matter of interpretation.

I want everything as clean as I can reasonably get it before I do a Macrium backup.
