I always thought that the command-line: "Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /StartComponentCleanup" would have taken care of the LCU folder's content, but after verifying I realized that it did not. So I had to do it manually according to the answers given in this old thread by many members:...
Left to its own devices, Windows Update keeps up to three CUs in LCU, when it already has three it will delete the oldest when it gets a new one. StartComponentCleanup (or Disk Clean up - Windows update cleanup) will delete all but the latest one.

Have you preiosly changed permissions to give yourself full control? That's the only explanation I can figure out....
No I did not. Settings remained where they have always been. Don't think the update did it??

Thx for the info. When I deleted the LCU folder's content, I only saw the last two CUs and that, in and of itself, made me understand that what you are saying is completely true.

Lengthy pauses when installing 20%, 44%, 74%. 2 restarts. No issues. DISM and SFC OK.

For me also TWO restarts. The first reboot happens as usual after finishing the update, and the second reboot always happens at night without my permission when my computer awakes from hibernation, and asks for a reboot (I see this when I wake up from my sleep and looking at my screen). This behaviour always happens ONLY when MS releases Cumulative Updates on my system. I don't know why. Very annoying.

    Hi
This first restart is waiting on your permission (blue dialog box), the second restart is the automatic windows restart after the update has been completed.

Just wondering why you guys are installing update Previews, when the real thing will be out on the 10th

Enable or Disable Windows Update Automatic Updates in Windows 10 | Tutorials (tenforums.com)

    Option 7

If you don`t want the Header.

Enable & Disable Header Ad in Settings app Windows 10 v2004 (geekermag.com)

    Personally I hate it.

What irks me the most when doing a WU. Having to do another WU. Like just now. Updated to W10 19043.1151. Check again and have to dl a. Net update. I wish you could update both at the same time 
ern88 same thing for me. After after down loading and installing KB5004296 which is working ok here I read your post, and decided to check for updates again. The security update, and the .net framework update popped up. Usually they are all found at the same time, but this time they found separately.
