Microsoft introduces the next feature update to Windows 10: 21H2

While MS says security I'm sure there is an element of support they wanted to address. Having to support hardware and architectures from the mid 2000's has to be draining with minimal pay back.
Then I guess the question would be where do you draw the line.
Not saying I agree with where they drew the line, just saying I bet they wanted to jettison some baggage.
Maybe this causes more people to try Linux and if more users will the app developers follow. Could be an interesting unintended consequence.

If this whole thing backfires on Microsoft as it well could, it will be interesting to see their shuffles and gear switching to try making corrections. Not saying it's definitely gonna happen, but I've got my popcorn ready just in case.

I'm surprised the media is not picking up more on these Window 11 requirements so the "Public" get involved. You see a peep here and there.

Problem is they are so used to Apple dropping support on older devices that they don't bother to ask why.

Yes my MAC has been left behind. That said my iPads and phones are going strong. I really don't object to them dropping as long as I get fair use from them. Everyone will have a different timeframe for fair use.

Lot of people still on Windows 7 and a lot that are on Windows 10 will be happy not to have to upgrade to Windows 11 for a few more years. When they do buy a new system it will have Windows 11 and they just go with the flow. I am OK with my Windows 10 systems and probably update when it is needed, not because I "need" Windows 11.

I'm not surprised at all...most people are focused on whether or not they will lose access to their current installation. Once they see that W10 will continue to function "as is" until 2025, they just breathe a sigh of relief and forget about it.
Just look at our government's approach to the looming Social Security crisis...kicking the can down the road works just great! (s.i.c.)
Or, just look at our system of measurements..."we don't need no stinken metric system". (s.i.c. - again)

Lol, we've been metric since the 1970's and I still think in Imperial measure despite having worked in metric all my career.

Do I update or do I put it off? (Been putting off 20H2 since it released)
