The Software Removal tool and NET Framework were fast like 2-3 minutes.

But the damn CU itself took 30 min... in total around 33 min... i remember my HDD for CUs took like 40 min... jesus christ if on M.2 it takes 30 min for a CU to install... i might be considering moving to Linux.
Your system specs look good, minus the PSU being of very questionable quality.

Windows 10 shan't hang like that! FFS, Windows 10 updates without a hang like that on a Core i5 4460, which is Haswell. (4th-gen) That's even with it considered long-in-the-tooth for 2020s-standards.

Why, what's wrong with DeepCool ?

I bought it cuz it was 650W and it has 5-year warranty. What i was mostly attracted by was the 5-year warranty... most PC components even PSUs have around 2-3 years warranty.

I've done this at least twice, dreading each time what the result might be. The next time might be anything but successful and unfortunately I have forgotten the medieval incantation to handle this situation. So much for my academic background.
After my last experience I will always dread WU.

Of course this one didn't go as it should. Despite the updates downloading and ready to install the computer did not install during non active hours as it usually does so I restarted myself. Holding my breath as it chugs through. I should say one other computer NEVER finishes the installation of updates on its own, I always have to restart it.

And now of course one computer refuses to install this update. So tired of this.

edit: Manual install worked. Realized that after my system restore due to the last WU issue I am back to 20H2. WU has not offered 21H1 still on this computer. Most others got it weeks ago.

    do you mean, 21H1, bru?
    cuz 20H1 is version 2004

I manually installed the KB5004237 CU from MUC onto both 2004/20H1 & 21H1 systems and found no problems...and I can print documents & pics just fine with my HP printers (whether connected locally thru usb cable or connected wirelessly thru WLAN) with KB5004237 installed

well manually installing the KB5004237 CU after downloading it from MUC took between 40 to 45 minutes to install on my PCs using SATA HDDs (don't ask me why I haven't gotten any SSDs yet since I have old PCs that are about a decade old) but at least they installed without failure.
